General Assembly Minutes - April 13, 2009

  • Friday, April 17 - Elegance on the Water - Hall Council will have free tickets available, number is limited, get them while you can!
  • Relay for Life - our theme will be Carnavale and we will be selling Italian Soda - apparel should be masks and we might make a gondola as our banner
• Treasurer’s Time with Ryan
  • $10,000 leftover for the next three weeks!! Think of your heart’s biggest desires
• Program Proposals
  • Walk to Campus - take a group of residents to walk to Campus - Thurs, 10am in time for an 11am class - also, will tell people where they can get breakfast en route - $25 for breakfast and coffee - voting on the amendment $75 - all approve, program passed!!
  • Open Door Night - Sunday, April 19, 8-10pm - residents will keep their doors open, get money for food and games and fun to host a small party - total $350 to give out to volunteering residents - talk to Greg if you’re willing to host! - amendment for $500 - all approve, program passed!
  • Water Goes to Elegance - Friday, April 17 - Elegance on the Water tickets are $20 this year - get 20 tickets for residents to go for free - total $400 - sign up on blog starting Wednesday, bring $5 deposit to hold ticket, then when you come to the program you will get the $5 back - meet in lobby at 6:45pm, boarding starts at 7pm in Seaport - all approve, program passed!
  • Trip to Serendipity - retroactive proposal - last Friday, took 12 residents to Serendipity - spent $72 - all approve, program passed!
  • Water Waste - on Earth Day (April 22) at 6:30pm in Rm 408, Trace Jordan from the chemistry department will be having a discussion about bottled water and its impact - 80% of water bottles do not get recycled! - subway sandwiches and tap water served - $75 for the food & misc expenses - also want to make a donation to PUR Water fund and gift for speaker - friendly amendment $150 - all approve, program passed!
  • Tropical Bingo Night - 5 different Bingo sessions - Thurs, April 23, 8pm - gift cards for winners - Room 408 - $250 total - all approve, program passed!
  • Cash Elevator - like Cash Cab but in the Water Street elevators - ambush people in elevator to play a trivia game to win prizes - over four days, April 23 - 26 (Thurs - Sun), two sessions each day for a half hour in evening - three questions to get right - grand prize is $25 Visa gift card, 8 in total - 2nd place prize is also Sustainability Bags with candy inside - total $250 - all approve, program passed!!
